About Iguana Ranch

Hello traveler!

How fondly I remember my days of traveling, around Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Far East. I was in my twenties and I loved it, every place excited me for different reasons. The culture, people, foods, smells, sights, experiences and the feel of being foreign in a foreign and far-off land…it was exhilarating, and inspiring. I determined to construe my life so as to relive those experiences. First, I moved to Montreal and finished my honors degree in Cultural Anthropology; then taught English in Korea; after that, I moved to beautiful British Columbia - a decision for which I am eternally grateful. What a place! Absolutely unspeakable beauty, lovely weather, laid-back friendly people, and a fun outdoor lifestyle where genuine happiness is not out of reach!

Shortly after arriving, I met my husband Paul and we developed the Iguana Ranch Guesthouse, named after Paul's famous tour bus which was the heart of his previous business - The Iguana Bus: BC mountain biking and skiing tours. We call the Ranch a "Mountain Biker's Shangri-La" because of Paul's love of biking and for the crazy jumps we have built all around the property-but in reality, it is a "Shangri-La" for everyone; especially for those who love nature and want to experience the great BC outdoors. ("Shangri-La" def: an idyllic hideaway, where life approaches perfection)

We open our doors to people from all over the world, learn about them, as we help them get the most of their experience in BC. We love that guests come to our house and have an experience of a lifetime. We know that we are their personal ambassadors to Canada, we are partial responsible for their lasting impression of our fair country, and that we make memories they will never forget-stories they might tell their grandchildren. We are honored to be in that position and we take great pride in doing our very best to fulfill it. We are looking forward to meeting you, and it is our pleasure to be your hosts.
